MFC-USA REPORT
We are Juan and Teresa Rodriguez, National President Couple of the
MFC-USA and respectfully submit the following report; we are following the
format sent to us by Gary and Kay, and in regards to the issues order, we state
as follows:
7.1 The present number
of active members in our association is 2,500
7.2 A. and B.
together, notable achievements.- One of our
MFC’s most notable achievement since 2004 has been our Triennial
National Convention; the last one, held in Tucson Arizona on July 2005 in which
our membership was exposed to different workshops an conferences which
contributed to the enrichment their lives, both in the spiritual and civil
areas.
Some other achievements are the yearly Regional Conventions which are
held by most of our Regions, their purpose and accomplishments are the same as
our National one.
Our Movement with its organizational programs and imbedded methods ideas
and plans, produces or carries on constant Notable achievements. Our
association is very complete and thorough, its goals and achievements are
excellent. Another activity which accomplishes great things for our members is
the so called “General Meeting”, which
is carried on three times a year in most of our federations and serves the
purpose of giving our members a better spiritual and civil formation. Our
different “Services” which are mainly the programs offered by father Gabriel
Calvo such as the Conjugal Encounter, Sons and Daughters, Single Mothers,
Vocations. etc.
We hold special monthly Masses in our federations with the attendance
and participation of our membership.
Our Movement constantly evangelizes other families by reaching out to
every one who gets interested in it and takes advantage of the just mentioned
programs. We are in a constant state of evangelization.
7.3 Our three main
activities which have been implemented are the use of a better “Curso Basico de Capasitacion” or
Capacitation Basic Course, which is a training program for our
leaders that has to be taken by all once a year. The Manual itself is in the
process of being updated.
Another activity is the increase of travel or visitation of Members of
the National Leadership to the Regions and federations according to their
needs.
Another one is more communication with our bishops, which has been a
very positive experience with abundant fruits for our organization.
7.4 In the expansion of our Movement into new
areas, we shall mention that the MFC for Hispanics in the USA, has made
some inroads into Canada, where is expected to flourish. Also in the USA we
have been taken it to other States like Massachusetts, Minnesota and Oklahoma,
with a great expectancy of taking it to many more states. We had to divide one
of our bigger Regions (East Texas) into 3 smaller ones so that we can manage
and bring our MFC to more families, that division, or as we call it ‘
Reestructuration” has been a great success and it has already produced
excellent results. Another very successful Reestructuration is now taking place in the Houston
Federation (our biggest) where Father Davila has taken an essential
participation.
7.5 What links do we
have with Church functions? The MFC-USA usually have a close relationship with the
Dioceses where it operates, they list us under their Family Life Office or
similar. The local bishops and parish pastors give us all their support; we
think it is because they know and see how beneficial our organization is to the
parish life.
7.6 About the top
three evangelization ministries in USA: We shall mention that for the Hispanic population, The MFC-USA is the main one that more
directly and effectively evangelizes the family. Another association similar to
ours is the Christian family Movement from Mexico, which parallels ours in more
than one way; We would like to clarify their situation in The USA an see why
they claim all the Dioceses of USA as one of their Regions. Can any one help
with this matter?
There could be some other different minor local groups working in the
Dioceses.
7.6 How are we
funded. The MFC-USA is a non profit organization and gets no subsidy from
nobody, we survive with our membership fees at the National level, and at the
local levels most federations besides those fees have some fund risers. Our
only suggestion is to educate the membership in their responsibility to support
our organization. Which is what we do.
In regards to
positive and negative impacts on our membership, We could say that
some of positive ones are the interest the National leadership takes in the
regional and local problems, communicating
with the local leadership and seeing to their problems and needs.
Another one is The creation of the F.U.E.E. plan, which means To
Strengthen, Unify, Extend, and Standardize the MFC-USA. Which is rendering the
expected results.
Our almost Ready Web Page.
In the Negative
side, we could mention the lack of funds to accomplish different projects,
spiritually and other wise the MFC-USA is fine and growing.
Respectfully submitted,
Juan and Teresa Rodriguez
(MFC-USA National President Couple)
